Stonehaven is not just a pretty little seaside town. Thanks to its fireball festival and its proximity to one of Scotland's most iconic castles, photos of Stonehaven have been beamed all over the world. Our tour tells you the stories behind these images - and if that wasn't enough we have tales of mutiny, the Titanic and the Scottish Crown Jewels. This tour is perfect if you are on your way to Dunnottar Castle and want to see something of the town first. If you are staying in Stonehaven it is a great way to get your bearings and see some of the hidden nooks, carvings and art you would otherwise have missed. This audio tour takes you on a 4km walk around Stonehaven and up to the nearby War Memorial. It takes around 80 minutes without stopping but you can pause the tour whenever you choose. The audio plays automatically at exactly the right time and place using your smart phone's GPS and the VoiceMap mobile app, which also works offline.

Typical Wetherspoons but that being said, you know what you're getting and it's good value for money. We ordered the drink and meal deals and spent just over £30 for 3 adults and a child so excellent value. The meals were nice, nothing special but we all ate a proper meal for a good price. Had the Korean chicken burger, ramen noodles, chicken wrap and fish and chips. Ordered via the app, which was easy, and the food arrived in good time without much of a wait. The front windows were open which was novel but it was quite a warm day and no air conditioning. All in all, clean enough, toilets were ok and the food was average but good value.

Love this pub. Great meeting point for our party. We had food which was lovely and drinks which were served really quickly despite being really busy! No pics of the food, too busy talking :) One of the few Weatherspoon's with loos on the ground floor! We really enjoyed our afternoon.

Not sure if they’ve seen all the competition off but this Spoons has been in the Good Beer Guide for 12 consecutive years which takes some doing. You can still tell you’re in a converted Woollies which is no bad thing.
