Fantastic meal at the Taj in Prestwick after a brutal cycling ride battling the wind all day. Exactly the sort of place you want to land in when you need properly comforting food and generous portions. Started with the poppadoms and chutney tray which felt a cut above the usual. The mango chutney and onions tasted really fresh and almost homemade. Was talked into having a starter and I’m glad I listened. The chicken pakora was massive, freshly made with a really light crispy batter and beautifully garnished. Didn’t feel heavy or oily at all. For the main I had the chicken tikka Nawabi Passanda with mushroom pilau rice. Huge portions again and packed with flavour, rich creamy sauce with tender chicken and perfectly cooked rice. Somehow managed to clear the plate after the day’s ride and it absolutely warmed me back up. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and proper quality food. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Prestwick.

We’ve always enjoyed the Taj, but this meal was absolutely brilliant! There's a noticeable improvement under the new management. The food was fantastic, we left with full stomachs and doggy bags, they had a great Mother’s Day deal where mums ate for free. Service from Saraa was attentive and really friendly, and the music created a nice atmosphere rather than chart music. Really recommend!

Wow. Amazing food, well executed and delicious. Saraa was knowledgeable, polite and attentive. The menu choice was fantastic and there were early bird dining offers between 3pm and 5pm, Tuesday through to Sunday. Atmosphere great and extremely clean. Highly recommend.
